AHEAD Symposiums

The AHEAD Symposium is the premiere Euro-Mediterranean regional event where the community of researchers and scholars from both developed and developing countries meet to present, elaborate and discuses their research works. The 7th and 6th symposiums of the AHEAD network were devoted to study the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the policy responses in developing countries. The 8th symposium will be held on March 4-5, 2023 under the theme “Health Systems in The Arab World: Successes, Failures, and Ways Forward?. 

AHEAD Newsletter

The AHEAD Network publishes a six-monthly newsletter that presents AHEAD Network news, workshops, working papers and accounts of scientific achievements of network members. It also includes a research focus that aims at shedding light, in a non-technical manner, on a particular research topic or question.

AHEAD Working Papers

The working paper series disseminate “work in progress” and the “work under review”. They are published to stimulate discussion and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field. 

Latest Publication

"Who bears the burden of universal health coverage?". This paper adresses the questions of who bears the burden of UHC and whether the UHC-fiscal stance is sustainable in the long term in devloping countries. The paper assesses alternative ways of financing the UHC-ridden deficit and their implications on fiscal sustainability and intergenerational inequalities.
