This report summarizes the findings of the 2002 Eritrea Demographic and Health Survey (EDHS) carried out by the National Statistics and Evaluation Office. Financial support for the survey was provided by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Health through the Technical Assistance and Support Contract (TASC) with John Snow, Inc. ORC Macro provided technical assistance for the survey through the USAID-funded MEASURE DHS+ project, which is designed to assist developing countries to collect data on fertility, family planning, and maternal and child health.
